Unrivalled supercomputer technology
For more than thirty years, LexisNexis has been on the frontier of large-scale data management and analysis. The LexisNexis Data Analytics Supercomputer (DAS) was originally developed to solve the organization’s internal data management and large-scale data analytics challenges and to deliver the speed and accuracy demanded by its expanding customer base.  Today, the DAS is the engine behind all of the company’s risk management solutions and helps customers solve large, complex data challenges such as national security issues.

Designed to manage the most complex and data-intensive analytical problems, the DAS features industry-leading speed, capacity, accuracy and ease of use. The DAS is high performance computing cluster (HPCC) technology that i s designed to be able to process, analyze and find links and associations in high volumes of complex data significantly faster and more accurately than current technology systems. In addition, the DAS scales linearly from 10's to 1000's of nodes handling 10's of petabytes (one petabyte equals one quadrillion bytes or 1,024 terabytes), supporting millions of transactions per day. In fact, it performed 10 times faster than the next fastest system for large data analysis.

Intuitive, flexible programming language
The core of the DAS is the Enterprise Control Language (ECL), which is a declarative, non-procedural programming language optimized for large-scale data management and query processing, which automatically manages workload distribution across all nodes. The programming language manages all aspects of the massive data joins, sorts and builds that truly differentiate the DAS from other technologies in its ability to provide flexible data analysis on a massive scale. This benefits programmers, who do not need to understand how to manage the parallel processing environment.

The expressiveness and flexibility of the language help to increase productivity by enabling end users a high degree of flexibility in defining how they want to use their data. As a result, users can express complex queries with less programming time and fewer lines of code than other conventional programming languages. ECL programming efficiency is proven to be far greater than other approaches.

Advanced linking and analysis
Common search technologies can often produce incomplete results due to an inability to find associations between related data records, requiring additional searches and wasted expense to find the information you need.

LexisNexis® Link ID, our advanced linking and analysis technology, securely and intelligently analyzes billions of partial and complete records, and then filters and links that information based on relevance to provide a complete picture of an individual—in a matter of seconds.

Link ID enables our solutions to identify and correlate relationships between entities that would otherwise appear unrelated. It constantly creates associations between records and generates the most recent and relevant contact information available. Fast, optimum results reduce the need for costly and time-consuming extended searches later in the discovery process.

Equally important, Link ID uses a secure, unique identifier to make connections between seemingly unrelated data, as opposed to sensitive personal information, such as a Social Security number, which can be misused in the event it falls into the wrong hands and isn’t always associated with the records you may need to find.
