LexisNexis® eCrash Video

Streamline the crash reporting process from start to finish

Bring simplicity and efficiency to the management of crash reports

From the scene of the accident to public report distribution, LexisNexis® eCrash electronic crash reporting solution brings simplicity and efficiency to crash report management.

Sergeant Anthony Luperfido, Miami Beach Police Department:
Traffic safety in Miami Beach is one of our biggest priorities.  We want everybody who comes into our city to spend less time sitting in their cars in traffic and enjoy their time here.  The demand on law enforcement has increased significantly, but our resources, not so much.  We were looking for a solution that would automate the crash reporting process and rescue us from the mounds of paper we were pushing through the system.

Brian Matuszko, LexisNexis Coplogic Solutions:
As a former police officer, I work directly with law enforcement and deliver them solutions that allow them to do more with less.  LexisNexis eCrash is the all-in-one solution for crash reporting.  It allows for an officer in the field to very quickly, accurately and safely create a crash report.  It’s one less thing for them to worry about.

Luperfido:
By a simple query of the vehicle tag number, or a driver’s license number, using our records management system (RMS) and how it ties into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), it captures data and brings it back to the LexisNexis eCrash application and that information is populated into the report seamlessly.  Our accuracy on our reports is almost 100%.  Traffic stops are one of the most dangerous elements of police work.  eCrash allows us to reduce the amount of time the officer spends at the roadside, increasing officer safety.  It also has reduced the amount of time spent on the backend processing paper reports.  So, it has definitely increased the efficiencies of our department.

Matuszko:

The Command Center is the back end of the system where a supervisor would be allowed to go inside and view a report and ensure it’s as complete and accurate as possible before sending on to the State and allow it for distribution amongst the citizens who were involved in the crash report as well as insurance carriers.  The amount of time it used to take to have a complete crash report filled out on the scene, approved, sent to the state then made available for purchase is about 30 days.  Now it’s down to about 5 or 6 days given that we offer it free to law enforcement agencies.  We are truly providing a service enhancement, a force multiplier.

Luperfido:
Now our officers can get to the scene, capture the information and in less than a half an hour they’re back in service and available for calls has been a huge benefit for us.  Miami Beach is a customer for life with LexisNexis.  We’re very happy.
