We are delighted to announce that Jon Burger, Associate Vice President of Technology, LexisNexis Risk Solutions, has been named the 2023 recipient of the RELX Distinguished Technologist Award. Jon is the 11th person to receive this honor, which recognizes the achievements of stand-out technologists who have fundamentally changed the way we do business and who have shown exemplary technology leadership over time.

For a good part of his 23-year career with RELX, Jon has masterminded the infrastructure across our HPCC platforms. We have deployed his engineering and architectural skills, coupled with his proactivity and energy, to drive partnerships with internal organizations and hardware suppliers to create bespoke internal solutions which support our thousands of customers. During this time, Jon developed as a director and leader of the Risk Infrastructure Architects and used his passion and deep technical skills to become the go-to person in the organization for complicated infrastructure problem solving.

Jon has contributed to process agility, automation and organizational design while developing those around him, through coaching and mentoring. As a senior technical leader, Jon is leading our Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE) driving an agility, efficiency and security agenda on behalf of our business and customers on our Azure Cloud Journey. For these reasons and many more, Jon is a worthy winner of this award.

With very close involvement from all Chief Technology Officers, the selection process for this annual award is rigorous. Becoming a RELX Distinguished Technologist is a prestigious and high-profile recognition, and one that I hope all our technologists aspire to achieve.
