ATLANTA – LexisNexis® Risk Solutions has earned Frost & Sullivan’s 2016 Healthcare Identity Management Technology Innovation Award. The award identifies a leading vendor of identity and risk management products and services as part of Frost & Sullivan’s research into the market for information technology solutions for healthcare organizations.

LexisNexis Risk Solutions’ identity and risk management suite for healthcare combines proprietary analytics, science and technology with the industry’s leading sources of provider, claims and public records information. The company’s flagship LexID® technology not only serves as a unique patient identifier by linking records from numerous sources to identify patients correctly and assign them a unique ID but also helps create a precise and accurate patient record — without having to deal with redundant information.

“Identity matching is challenging for most businesses, but healthcare environments have special concerns because errors present risks to patient privacy and safety. These concerns are growing with the increased proliferation of electronic medical records and mobile apps, which contribute to rising cyber attacks in healthcare,” said Nancy Fabozzi, Principal Analyst at Frost & Sullivan. “Health IT is essential to enabling patient care that must be coordinated across an increasingly dispersed care landscape. However, the full promise of health IT cannot be realized without a true referential, persistent ID system such as that provided by LexisNexis’ LexID linking technology.”

The LexID linking technology, which powers LexisNexis identity management solutions, has access to over 65 billion public records and resolves identities with over 99.9 percent accuracy while protecting privacy and security in an era of growing healthcare data breaches and patients’ engagement with their personal health data. LexisNexis Health Care provides its identity intelligence and management solutions across the healthcare industry to ensure that patient information is linked correctly and maintained consistently. Additionally, the company’s ability to manage data allows healthcare organizations to ensure that they have the latest information for improved outreach, fraud detection and health outcomes.

“One of the key challenges healthcare entities face is how to aggregate and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient information, which then feeds other work streams across the enterprise.  Patient data often comes from multiple sources across many types of organizations and has a great deal of variability. It can also be self-reported, prone to data entry errors, out of date, inaccurate and redundant,” said Jeff Klein, Senior Vice President and General Manager at LexisNexis Health Care. “LexisNexis Health Care’s matching algorithm combines a variety of referential information in the specific context to bring an exceptionally high degree of confidence and accuracy to the process of identity management.”
