Skin cancer continues to impact thousands of Americans each year. Even though people are aware of the causes and use sun screens and other types of sun blocks to mitigate the risks, approximately 9,500 are still diagnosed with the disease every day.1
Because of this staggering number of newly diagnosed cases, LexisNexis analyzed skin cancer diagnoses codes using their MarketView™ data to determine the states with the highest number of diagnoses. These skin cancer statistics by state are based on the number of diagnoses in the U.S. This analysis identified the top 10 states with the highest volume of skin cancer related diagnostic and treatment procedures. These trends are based on patient volume derived from LexisNexis® MarketView™ data between October 2017 and March 2019.
