US DEPARTMENT OF LABOR ANNOUNCES UP TO $200M IN AVAILABLE GRANTS TO STATES TO STRENGTHEN UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE PROGRAMS; PREVENT, DETECT FRAUD

The US Department of Labor (DOL) released new Unemployment Insurance Additional American Rescue Plan Act grant availability for State Workforce Agencies. The US DOL is providing $200 million in grants to State Workforce Agencies to strengthen Unemployment Insurance (UI) Program Integrity –including identity verification, fraud prevention and detection, and overpayment recovery efforts in all unemployment compensation (UC) programs, as well as required and strongly recommended strategies, tools, and services for UI fraud risk mitigation and improper payment reduction. 

The application deadline to receive this important funding is July 26, 2023, and is quickly approaching.
