Looking Back at the 2024 International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Conference

Insights from the Expo Hall Floor

Our team attended the 2024 IACP Conference in Boston, Massachusetts, spending the weekend networking, learning and collaborating with leaders and partners in the field of law enforcement.  Here are our main takeaways:

The 2024 International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Conference, held in Boston, Massachusetts last month, provided our Public Safety Team the opportunity to spend time with current law enforcement leaders from around the world, learning about the challenges they are facing each day and how technology can help address those problems.  For our team, the opportunity to attend sessions, network and hear what needs law enforcement currently have was invaluable as we continue to partner with agencies in support of their mission.

Trusted Partners to Law Enforcement

Every year at the IACP event, we eagerly anticipate the opportunity to engage with our customers in the expo hall to discuss how we can extend our support. We were thrilled to see a steady stream of our customers stopping by our booth, both to exchange greetings and to explore fresh avenues through which we can assist them.

Agencies trust the team at LexisNexis® Risk Solutions and their investigative solutions and services to help provide critical information during complex investigations.

The LexisNexis Risk Solutions Public Safety team has over seven hundred years of combined law enforcement experience driving the innovation behind our investigative solutions and the depth and breadth of capabilities, centered around deep, robust data sets and powerful analytics to help agencies achieve their missions while making communities safer.

The Future is NOW

This year, the primary focus in the IACP Expo Hall was progress made in law enforcement technology. This represents a change from previous years when vehicles and equipment were the main draw for attendees. This time, the participants showed higher interest in learning about how technology can contribute to efficiency in their respective agencies. Many discussions revolved around the ability of technology, specifically the Accurint® Virtual Crime Center, to assist law enforcement officers in making data-driven operational decisions.

The increase in Artificial Intelligence (AI) utilization in law enforcement has been unprecedented and has caught the attention of law enforcement leaders. With the launch of our Accurint® AI Insights earlier in the year, we have provided the means for users to swiftly recognize and react to developing crime patterns. We understand the importance of thoroughly vetting AI capabilities in law enforcement technology and valued the opportunity to highlight how our solutions are evolving to meet the changing needs of law enforcement, to include AI functionality, during IACP 2024.

Better Together

During IACP, the Accurint® Public Safety Marketplace was on display as our latest offering for law enforcement customers.  We have created a single, trusted location for law enforcement agencies to purchase various products and tools from our connected partners that have been enhanced by LexisNexis® Risk Solutions data assets and linking technology. Single sign-on access to OSINT tools through LexisNexis® Accurint® Virtual Crime Center is innovation through collaboration. Accurint Virtual Crime Center users can now gain access to OSINT tools to seamlessly work between multiple solutions, expanding their investigative workflow by enhancing intelligence located complimentary solutions with LexisNexis® data assets and linking technology.

Scott Jackman, Senior Director of Public Safety Sales, commented: “I engaged in numerous discussions with customers regarding the enhancements in Accurint Virtual Crime Center. Many focused on the incorporation of call detail record analysis features of Accurint® TraXTM into a unified platform.  I enjoy attending IACP every year and having the opportunity to hear what we are doing really resonates with our customers and is meeting their needs.”
