2023 Law Enforcement Technology Insights Survey

We surveyed law enforcement professionals, revealing shifts in challenges and technology needs over the last five years.

LexisNexis® Risk Solutions recently surveyed law enforcement professionals across the United States to see how crime is changing in their jurisdiction and how they are using data and technology to combat it. Results were compared to the results of the same survey conducted in 2019, revealing shifts in needs.   

What we found was:

• Violent crime was the top key crime challenge reported, a shift from the third key crime challenge five years earlier
• 76% of law enforcement would prefer to see and share data across the United States as opposed to just regionally, up from just 66% five years ago
• 89% of survey participants reported that investigations take up most of their time during a shift
