In 2024, LexisNexis® Risk Solutions conducted a survey of 1,000 U.S. consumers to inquire whether they leveraged an attorney for their bodily injury auto claim.

Key insights reveal:

 

  • Out of the 1,000 surveyed, we found that 70% hired an attorney.
  • 15% of that group that hired an attorney had not initially intended to seek legal counsel.
  • Among this 15% subset, 61% say it was “the way things were going” with the third-party carrier that prompted them to hire an attorney.
